Sisters' drawings

Beatriz drew me and Daddy in a lovely garden with a giant pumpkin tree (due to a G she drew for Mariana).
Mariana drew 4 girls and 1 boy (really outnumbered!) playing together and then wrote that with my help. Such great little artists these two sisters!

Eu passei umas duas horas do meu serão a tentar escolher uma causa, uma pessoa, uma mulher de preferência, em África, de preferência em Angola, e não consegui encontrar uma alminha neste país onde nasci. Será possível que não haja pessoas empreendedoras que precisem dum pequeno empréstimo para que a sua ideia passe à prática?

Ainda estou no processo de escrever para lá a averiguar o porquê disto.

Ate lá, vou lendo os testemunhos destas pessoas para quem 25 dólares podem mesmo fazer a diferença. Ainda há tanta desigualdade neste nosso mundo... E como diria, naquela voz calma e noctívaga, a RFM: "e já agora, era bom pensar nisto.". Concordo. Pensar e agir.

Friday was such a gorgeous day that I packed a picnic and had it with Vasco at Carnegie Mellon.
Sofia had lots of fun crawling on the leaves. So many!

Hoje foi dia de magusto em Carnegie Mellon. Que belas estavam as castanhinhas assadas!
Até deu para uma sessão de fotos em família e para a Sofia experimentar a primeira castanha assada (digamos que estava mais impressionada com as cascas pretinhas e o cartuxo que a ASAE não deixaria passar em branco!)

Minha querida Sofia,

Contigo o tempo parece voar. Contigo estes 10 meses passaram a correr. Às vezes, dou por mim a pensar como é que já podes estar a cantarolar, a gatinhar por tudo quanto é sítio, a empoleirares-te nas tuas caixas preferidas. Como é que já passaram 10 meses e ainda não consegui descrever o dia do teu nascimento? Em jeito de desculpa, aqui fica uma cartinha para mais tarde leres e veres que apesar do tal diário ainda não estar começado, não me esqueço desse dia em que vieste ao mundo e em que nos tornaste mais ricos.

És uma bébé linda, feliz, sorridente, bem disposta, em paz com o mundo, diria eu. É bom saber-te tão saudável e tão curiosa. Esses olhos do tamanho do mundo, como diria o poeta, querem abarcar tudo e essas mãozinhas tão geniquentas acompanham-nos na perfeição.

Sinto-me muito privilegiada por poder passar tanto tempo contigo. Nunca estou sózinha. Tenho-te sempre comigo, ora a dormitar, ora a comer, ora a tentar andar, ora a fazeres as tuas conversas muito giras...

As tuas manas adoram-te e passam a vida a queres mostrar-te mais coisas deste grande mundo em que vivemos. Têm tudo para ser 3 grandes irmãs. Assim o espero!

Minha filhota, é hora de irmos almoçar. Assim nos chama a realidade e assim vejo por onde se escapam estes 10 meses e todos os outros que por aí hão-de vir...
